Studio   Founder

Roula Salamoun is an architect and designer, founder of a multidisciplinary eponymous studio. Through architecture, interiors and product design her practice operates at the boundaries of analog, digital and experiential design.

Her creative practice combines the experimentation of materials with the exploration of organic forms inspired by landscapes and natural morphology. Her surprising associations of textures along a statement color palette are a call for both tactile and visual sensory plays.

Roula earned her Bachelor of Architecture with distinction from the American University of Beirut in 2007 and pursued her graduate research at Columbia University in New York in 2011, where she was awarded the William Kinne fellowship.

She co-founded the GSAPP collective for Beirut in 2020 and collaborated with Ieva Saudargaite Douaihi on Nationmetrix, a multi-sensorial installation that probes into the experience of crossing national borders with a Lebanese passport, for which they received the 2019 Arte Laguna ARS Prize.

Roula’s work has been published in prominent publications, of which Domus magazine listed her amongst the designers to look out for. Her work was also  presented at international events, notably in New York, Venice, Paris, Dubai, and with the Gosserez Gallery at the PAD London fair 2022. AD Middle East also nominated Roula Salamoun as "Emerging Designer" of the year 2022.
