Body as Surface: An exploration of the human body & space

Commissioned by House of Today, the Anatomy collection delves into relationships between the human body, space, and the objects in between. By envisioning creations where bodies infuse with tangible space, this collection invites viewers to explore new realms of imagination.

Process

The products in the collection come to life through the casting of diverse body parts, that are reconfigured into functional surfaces.

Functional surfaces born from bodily interactions

Surfaces that accomodate every day life

Formal studies

Material experiments

The process began with translating the qualities of plaster body casts into different
materials from aluminum, clay and concrete.

Spatial interplay

Introducing these products into built environments creates an engaging interplay, evoking a sense of anthropomorphic surrealism that arises effortlessly.
