High Chroma scenography

Three triangulated walls inject high chroma color and directionality in the space. Seen from the gallery vantage point, their tapered shapes give off a paper-thin impression to the walls, affording weightlessness and motion to the carpets on display.

Painted in primary colors, each of the saturated backdrops puts the spotlight on a new collection.

Scenography Design: Roula Salamoun
Client: Iwan Maktabi

Designed for the Iwan Maktabi Gallery in Dubai, this scenographic intervention acts as a series of deliberate lacerations within the traditional gallery space. Three large, triangulated walls are inserted to activate the environment, using bold monochromatic color and sharp directionality to break the monotony of the orthogonal room. By manipulating light and saturated hues, these geometric forms create a vivid backdrop that interacts dynamically with the objects on display, adding a new dimension that invites the viewer to move through and participate in the experience. This design challenges the expected neutrality of art spaces, proving that high-chroma, rhythmic environments can heighten the emotional resonance and focus of the work they house.
