Natural Formations: Archipelagos

Inspired by insular landscapes molded by the passage of time, this exploration seeks to capture the harmony and contrasts found in nature. The aim is to translate these complementarities into internal landscapes, using texture and form to create objects that stand independently while also fostering a dynamic dialogue when juxtaposed with other formations.

Inspiration

Observing the shapes and textures of natural formations reveals a fascinating contrast: some areas are eroded and smooth, while others remain rough and textured. This complimantarity of both form & textures becomes the starting point of our studies.

Formal studies

Mapping the complementarity among different land masses reveals that, despite being separated by the forces of time and nature, they maintain a dynamic dialogue with one another.

Working with clay to mold shapes that are adapted to the human body, ensuring both comfort and functionality.

Production

By layering various densities of padding at different moments, the amorphous shapes come to life.

The complementarity is also reflected in the choice of fabrics. Using the same colors for the smooth vegan suede and the textured chenille emphasizes their textures, highlighting how they respond to light and feel against the skin.

Interior landscapes

When placed next to each other, the pieces themselves create a unique landscape.
